Christian Aid Ireland is gravely concerned by the mounting death toll across Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory. There can be no justification for the deliberate targeting, killing and kidnapping of civilians.
We are deeply concerned by the order of a full siege on Gaza, which would deprive more than two million people of food, water and electricity. Reports that some official donors are considering halting aid to Palestinian civilians are alarming and will only deepen suffering.
We are working with local partners to assess humanitarian needs and urge all sides to abide by international law, to protect innocent civilians, and agree to an immediate de-escalation.
