Easter prayer

As dawn breaks on this Easter morning, we lift our hearts to You in prayer.  

‘Who will roll away this stone?’  

We lament the things in our world that feel immovable.  

Poverty, gender inequality, changing climates and seemingly endless cycles of violence.  

In the midst of our distress, may we hear your voice and know that  

You are the God who lives,  

‘He has risen!’ 

We dare to imagine another world is possible  

May our hearts be strengthened and reenergised   

May we go and work tirelessly for a better world. 

Move us, we pray.
